Accessories are not only fun, but they actually serve a purpose. Sometimes, it is necessary to properly accessorize an outfit. For example:
If you have a monochromatic outfit, let’s say its black; unless you are going to a funeral, you do not need that much black in your outfit. So to break up the monochromatic black, you need something fun which will draw attention to somewhere, since black hides everything.
Scarves are one of my FAVORITE accessories. They are SO versatile! For example: they can be used as a makeshift umbrella. Just drape it over your head and it will help your hair not get wet. Of course, it is not as convenient as an umbrella since then, your scarf will be wet, however scarves are easier to dry than your hair.
Another reason scarves are the best for accessorizing is because they can be used as a cover up. If you are going to church and you want to wear an outfit that might show a little too much, cover it with a scarf and you will look proper and fashion forward. Or how about your favorite shirt has a stain on it and since you already dried it, the stain is going to be there forever? Sure, that happens to all of us! But the smart ones keep the shirt and wear a scarf or possibly jewelry (if it is big enough to cover the stain) to cover it up

However, there are always downfalls to accessorizing. Never OVER accessorize. My personal rule is this. Have an accessory above and below the torso. For example, earrings and a belt, necklace and an ankle bracelet, or necklace and bracelet. (I count wrists as a neutral ground as they go past your waist, but they are attached to an extremity that is above the torso.) Either way you go, keep it simple.
Make sure you are also keeping in mind your body shape from my last few posts! If you are an inverted triangle and you wear a scarf without proportioning out the hips, it will only accentuate your shoulders!!
Here are a few accessories from our collection to help you get started!
