Over the last couple of years we have posted fashion tips on our Facebook and Instagram pages, so now we want to highlight some of our favorite ones that we felt were worth sharing with you again!

#2) The Neck Method for Perfect Fitting Jeans

                If you don’t have enough time to try on jeans in the store, try the Neck Method:

You can determine you size by placing the waistline of the jeans around the diameter of your neck. If the waistline of the pant comfortably meets at the back of your neck, then the jeans will fit!

#3) Dawn Dish Soap

                Due to Dawn Dish Soaps high level of surfactants, it is especially successful at removing grease and oil stains from clothing.

#4) Wait to Take Jeans to the Tailor

                Wash your jeans twice before taking them to the tailor. Why? Because jeans will always shrink in length when washed.

#5) Removing Liquid Makeup from Your Shirt

                Use shaving cream and a washcloth to remove liquid makeup from your shirt collars.

#6) Maintain Wash of Dark Jeans

                Add a ½ cup of distilled white vinegar to the final rinse cycle while doing laundry to maintain the wash of your favorite pair of dark jeans.

#7) Put a Stop to Squeaky Shoes

                To stop squeaky shoes, remove the insole and apply Vaseline or WD-40 before replacing the insole back into your shoe.


#8) Remove Deodorant Marks

                Use a baby wipe to remove deodorant marks on your clothes!

#9) Restore Patent Leather

                Windex restore glassy sheen on patent leather without doing any damage!

#10) Get Your Tees Feeling Vintage Soft

                Want your tees to feel vintage soft? Brine your shirt(s) in 1 quart of water plus ½ cup of salt for about 3 days. Machine wash with a dash of detergent, then tumble dry.

#11) How to Get Stiff Shoes Un-Stiff

                Break in stiff or too snug shoes by slipping them on with socks and blasting your feet with a hot hairdryer.


                Put Ziploc Bags full of water into your shoes then place them in the freezer overnight. As the water freezes and expands so will your shoes, therefor gradually stretching them our without causing any damage.

                After a shower, use your hairdryer to de-mist your bathroom mirror in seconds.

                If blush/bronzer/powder breaks in your handbag, use pre-moistened make-up remover wipes to clean up the loose powder flawlessly!

#15) How to Store Jewelry

                The best way to store Jewelry including sterling silver, is in Ziploc Bags. It helps jewelry retain luster and reduces tarnishing and scratches.

#16) How to Store Tall Boots

                With spring here, and summer following, your tall winter boots aren’t coming out any time soon, so to make sure creases don’t get made in them by them falling over, place empty wine bottles in them to help them stand up straight.

#17) De-wrinkle Clothes

                The fastest way to get unwanted wrinkles out of your clothes is by throwing them in the dryer with an ice cube for about 15+ minutes or until all the wrinkles are out. You may need to add an additional ice cube and increase the time in the dryer depending on the amount of clothing and material.

  • Just a reminder about the jeans around the neck tip, this applies for the waist…not the hips and buttocks… ;) it’s not guaranteed to work, but its great for if you dont have time to try things on at the moment.
